Course description:
This seminar gathers PhD fellows from across the Nordic and Baltic art academies for a focused and in-depth two-day session. It is an opportunity for participants to share their research with peers from the field of visual art through focused three-hour discussions of each fellow’s particular project. The seminar aims specifically at exploring, articulating, strengthening, and developing, research methods and strategies from within the field of visual art and on its own premises. As such it is thought as an addendum to existing cross-disciplinary formats within the realm of artistic research.
Participants will be divided into groups of three. All presentation sessions will take place within the groups, and each participant will be allotted three hours to present and discuss her/his project with the other members of the group.
Participants should be prepared to commit to producing brief preparatory material in advance of the seminar and to engaging with two other fellows‘ research material prior to arriving in Oslo.
