Requirements: Students have to acknowledge that humans are a subspecies of apes, and are in no way superior to any other living species on this planet.
Course desription: In this course students will be introduced to the basic principles of Artistic Biotechnology. We will build a mindset that might enable us to encounter other-than-humans on common ground. We will use cultural techniques derived from biotechnology and traditional gung fu brewing to mediate this common ground. We will investigate our own bodies and the bodies of Aspergilli by physical encounter in the laboratory. Questioning of the place of apes within the larger domain of life will be encouraged, guidance might be provided up to a certain point.

Additional information: The course will take place in the newly established Research Laboratory for Artistic Biotechnology in the Kaunas Faculty of Vilnius Academy of Arts.
