Course desription: Course description: VAA KF Textile Department summer practice „Laboratory“: 9-16 of June, 2022 Vilnius Academy of Arts, Kaunas Faculty, Textile Department summer practice is called „Laboratory“ based on the aspects of sustainability and new materiality searches, the
prize for new textile surfaces, new „epidermis“ looks at global problems related to natural depletion, climate change, water consumption. In order to change harmful processes into sustainable ones, we turn to the natural environment, look for answers in nature, expanding the boundaries of biomaterial production and fostering creativity that fosters ecological consciousness. The process of searching for new look at the development and use of materials in the creative process.
Plant experimental tissues will be developed in collaboration with microorganisms during creative practice. The realization that a cultivated and created surface is still alive, in need of care and concern, awakens a sense of responsibility, helps to realizme that the cooperation between
man and nature can be a way out of the problem of unsustainable materials. The collection, archiving, processing and creative interpretation of local experiences will take on new creative forms. In the
creative workshop we will apply the methods of cooperation, expedition, creative thinking, research. The created objects/prototypes will be presented in a open workshop in the Nida Art Colony.
